new friends

They are so great. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my 'lifers', so to speak, but there is something so exciting about new friends. You get to learn all these new details about them, and find what you have in common. You stay up late, painting your nails, while you constantly find things to talk about. And everything makes you laugh.

But what's funnier is when I recently became best friends with someone I have known for more than half my life. I'm thinking it's because we lived in separate states and we never really got to see each other, but still it's ironic.

She's funny, smart, beautiful, caring, helpful, and honest. All great qualities in a new friend. And to top it off, she's moving here (a very important part). I am so thrilled to see where our friendship is going to go and to have someone to pinterest-plan everything with!

And how did I know we'd soon be great friends, just a little topic about cooking grits in milk. Soulmates.
